Remembering Rico Yan!

We are know celebrating All Saint's Day and All Souls Day wherein we remember and visit our departed love ones. Inline with this celebration, today here in TV Series Craze, I will allot a special post to pay tribute to one of the actors who had contributed much in the world of TV and movie. Let's revisit the great contribution of Mr. Rico Yan.

Ricardo Carlos Castro Yan is the complete real name of this hottest matinee idol. He was born on March 14, 1975 in Manila. He was 5′ 8″” in height and 130 lbs in weight. He was a Roman Catholic.

It was the solemn Good Friday of March 29 2002, when news broke out that Rico, at a tender age of 27, died in his sleep at the Dos Palmas Resort in Palawan. Rico was reportedly at the resort to shoot a TV commercial for a local telecoms company. According to the police report filed by Southern Tagalog police director, Chief Supt. Domingo Reyes, Rico's body was found inside his room at around 9 a.m. by his friend, actors Dominic Ochoa and Janna Victoria.

That day was the saddest day to all the fans and people who truly love Rico. The news about his death shocked many including me!

Acute hemorrhagic pancreatitis leading to cardiac arrest was the caused of death of this matinee idol!

Rico first appeared on TV via the Eskinol TV commercial. Afterward, he became talent of the famous ABS-CBN's Star Circle (which is now Star Magic). He was first teamed with Ms. Judy Ann Santos then with Ms. Claudine Barretto. He eventually rose in stardom! He had done 11 movies and 4 TV series.
