"It's Showtime" Hosts Offer Prayer to Vhong Navarro while Fans Tweet Supports!

The hosts of “It’s Showtime” offered a moment of silence and a prayer last Saturday (Jan 25) for their co-host Vhong Navarro after news broke he was beaten up in a condominium in Taguig City, which triggered an outpouring of support for the actor-comedian and outrage over the brutal assault on him.

"Thanks to all our Kapamilya who were with us last night to pray and who expressed their love for Vhong,” said Vice Ganda in Filipino during the noontime show’s opening. “We are thankful that Vhong is still alive and he’ll still be with us.”

“Vhong, we’re here for you. We’d like to take this moment to pray for you,” a tearful Anne Curtis said before leading the prayer for her co-host.

Messages of support for Vhong from celebrities and fans also flooded social media, making the hashtag #PrayForVhongNavarro top Twitter’s worldwide trending topics.

“I just found out the news about Vhong Navarro... It's so sad people do such thing. Please please #PrayForVhongNavarro to recover fast!” ayon sa user na si @SherRosa.

@SuperIDee posted, “Pray for Vhong's fast recovery and for justice. Be strong & get well! We love you!”

“God knows that Vhong is great guy. He knows how Vhong treasures people in his life. We love you Vhong. #PrayForVhongNavarro,” added @_zxcvicerylle.

Vhong will temporarily not be seen on “It’s Showtime” as he continues to recover, said his manager, director Chito Rono. (www.tvseriescraze.blogspot.com)
