After the success of their very first TV series in the Kapamilya network titled "Marry Me, Marry You," rumored lovers Janine Gutierrez and Paulo Avelino or PauNine got as well their very first romantic movie. And this is "Ngayon Kaya" which truly captured the hearts of the viewers, netizens, moviegoers, and PauNine supporters.
The movie had its red carpet premiere night on June 21, 2022 at the Cinema 1 of SM Megamall. The said red carpet premiere night marked the return of the face-to-face events in the entertainment industry after the pandemic. And it was well-supported not only by fans or movie lovers by with the different stars and personalities.
Some of the celebrities spotted during the red carpet premiere night are Jake Cuenca, Edward Barbers, Kim De Leon, Ria Atayde, Jake Ejercito, and Janine's father Ramon Christopher (Monching) Gutierrez. Movie director JB Habac, fashion icon BJ Pascual, and some TikTok and Social Media influencers were also supporting the movie.

In the movie, Janine and Paulo played the characters of college friends AM and Harold. AM and Harold who are supposed to be bandmates were so close but never seem to be more than friends due to challenges in their personal lives. One day, the two talk about the topic of courtship during which AM is surprised to discover that Harold doesn't believe in dating.
Harold offers the following as his explanation: "Hindi ba pwedeng yung natural lang... Yung magkaibigan muna kaya tapos 'di ba kapag swak na kayo, eh di kayo na." Although this line was uttered by his movie persona, Paulo might have also have been stating his personal conviction.
While Paulo and Janine have not confirmed the persistent rumors that they are couple, what is certain is that the two have developed a very good friendship, one that began in 2017, and nurtured through the projects they have done such as "Ngayon Kaya" and the teleserye "Marry Me, Marry You." The former is actually their first project as well as their movie together since it was shot prior to the pandemic.
