After 9 years of being a Kapamilya, versatile actress Ms. Aiko Melendez left ABS-CBN and transferred to the rival network GMA-7!
The news about Aiko's network transfer becomes a trending topic in the world wide web after she posted a thankful message to the Kapmilya network in her official Instagram account.
Posted on May 22, Aiko's message reads: “Nagpapasalamat po ako sa [channel] 2 sa 9 years na [opportunity] na binigay nyo sa akin na makapag work dahil dito ako nag grow bilang isang actress at hindi ko mararating kung ano ako ngayon kundi dahil sa kanila.”

Aiko becomes so popular in ABS-CBN after portraying the character of Emilia Ardiente, the villain in the hit 2017 Primetime revenge TV series "Wildflower" starring Maja Salvador.
Aside from "Wildflower," Aiko starred in other Kapamilya teleseryes like "The Story of Us" with Kim Chiu and Xian Lim and "Bagani" with Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil. Aiko also starred in some of the box-office classic movies of Star Cinema such as "Ika-11 Utos: Mahalin Mo Asawa Mo," "Maalaala Mo Kaya The Movie" and "May Minamahal."
Meanwhile, Aiko is warmly welcomed by Kapuso network. She was given a new afternoon teleserye called "Prima Donnas" wherein she will be playing the character of Kendra. The said TV series is top-billed by Kapuso tween actresses namely Jillian Ward, Sofia Pablo, and Althea Ablan and to be directed by Gina Alajar.
Aiko then expressed her gratitude to GMA Network for the new blessing given to her. According to her, as a single mom, work is really important to her.
“Para sa akin po ang work ay napakahalaga bilang isang single mom. Kaya nagpapasalamat ako sa bagong blessing na binigay ng GMA 7 sa akin,” Aiko shared.
On the said teleserye, Aiko is reunited with Wendell Ramos, her husband who played Jaguar in "Wildflower." She even had a selfie with Wendell as seen below:
Chanda Romero, Katrina Halili, and Benjie Paras are also part of the said upcoming GMA Afternoon Prime teleserye.
On the other hand, GMA's Primetime Queen Marian Rivera welcomed Aiko and expressed her excitement working with the actress. On her instagram comment, it reads:
We may recall that during the last year's PMPC Star Awards night, Aiko Melendez expressed her admiration to the beautiful Marian Rivera.
