Meet the "Prince of Soul," Bryan Chong



WHO IS BRYAN CHONG?

Singer-song writer Bryan Chong was born on August 12, 1999 in Quezon City. At an early age of five (5) he began to show the ability of singing. The first song that he learned by that time was “Nano” from the Japanese candy commercial. Bryan grew up with his foreign step father Jake Long and his filipina mother MerilynForneste who was a former singer in South Korea.

MOVED TO LUCENA, QUEZON PROVINCE

Lucena City is a very memorable place for Bryan where his career starts at age of 14. His first Mall Show was in Pacific Mall with Enrique Gil. By then, music career opened up the door for Bryan and he has been invited to sing in series of Mall Shows with celebrities such as, Alexa Ilacad, Nadine Lustre, James Reid, Nash Aguas, Kim Chiu, etc.

Bryan Chong was born with a gifted talent to perform and credits his fearless stage presence with his experience. “Music is a dream. It’s what I love to do to escape from a playful reality, a escape from our judgmental world, a escape from the words “you can’t do it, there’s nothing good in your voice. You’ll end up nothing with singing because it’s not a real job,” he said.




CAREER BREAKTHROUGH

He was first seen on a primetime TV Magazine Show that leads him to sign in a three-year contract under Star Image Artist Management together with concert producers from Aqueous Entertainment. Managed by Mr. Vince Apostol and Mr. David Cabawatan.

After Bryan’s journey on The Voice Teens Philippines where he showcased his undeniable talent, Bryan had so many endorsements and guesting. Now he is ready to perform and make history on the concert stage. Everyone is invited! He will be having his First Major Concert entitled as PRINCE OF SOUL on May 12, 2018 at the Music Museum along with his guests The Voice Season 2 Grand Champion Jason Dy, Hip Hop Prince John Roa, Rap Royalty from X Factor UK Elysa V, Revival King Jojo Mendrez, and Pop and EDM Princess Kara Mitzki. Directed by Ms. Ona Lara Unico and with Musical Director MackyRicafort produced by Aqueous Entertainment and Co-presented by Star Image Artist Management. Let us all witness the greatest show as Bryan Chong sings his heart from his soulful voice.

THE VOICE TEENS Philippine’s Season 1

- BLIND AUDITION -

He was given a chance to move in to Blind Auditions after making it to mall auditions with thousands of aspirants. He did "KahitKailan" by South Border and mesmerized the judges with clean high notes using falsetto. 

Sarah Geronimo first turned her chair for Bryan followed by Sharon Cuneta who threw so much emotions. He got a standing ovation from the two coaches and left with a very remarkable comments, “Anggalinggalingmograbeka!”, “Grabenamanyan, seventeen years old ganonkagaling!” from Coach Sarah, and “You did it, you nailed it. I’ll keep an eye on you!” from Coach Bamboo. Coach Sharon invited Mr. Rey Valera on stage hoping to get Bryan for her team. Before leaving the stage, Coach Sarah beg for Bryan to choose her as a coach with a comment “Alammo Bryan kailangannakailangankitasa team ko. Sana hayaanmoakonamakatrabahoka. It would be an honor namakatrabahoangkasinggaling mo.”

Rendering a supremely clean falsetto voice he was then dubbed as the Falsetto Prince and the Dark Horse of Team Sarah.

- BATTLE ROUNDS -

Bryan got the spotlight over Archie Aguilar with their rendition of Heaven Knows. 

Lea Salonga said “Nagustuhan ko yung fighting spirit na bumawi. At hindi lang basta bumawi, ginandahan pa”

Sharon “alam kong ang dami ko pang magagawa sa boses mo”

Sarah G “alam ko ang ability mo Bryan, kasi consistent ka naman sa rehearsals”

Sarah G chose Bryan over Archie to move in to next round.

- KNOCKOUTS -

Bamboo “the simplier parts na naririnig ko sa boses mo and the potential of moving forward. I would say my pick would be you Bryan” 

Lea Salonga “for me yung puso at yung boses, kailangan kasal. So for me yung pinaka emotionally connected as well as vocally. Yung nagbigay ng performance kung saan ako naniniwala. I’ll go with Bryan” 

Sarah G “grabe lang yung mga tinatamaan mong mga high notes. Yung discipline kung pano yung pag shift ng boses from natural tapos gagawin mong head tone na ang taas talaga, anghirap non!”

Sharon Cuneta “patay na patay ako don” referring to Bryan’s falsetto/head tone.
