Is "Meant To Be" the GMA Version of "Boys Over Flower" and "Meteor Garden?"

Everyone is really excited for the GMA-7's 2017 opening salvo, "Meant To Be." This is their newest primetime teleserye set to premiere next week, January 9, 2017. And it is lead by Barbie Forteza with four leading men namely Ken Chan, Jak Roberto, Ivan Dorschner, and Addy Rej.

The newest teleserye is a light romance drama or rom-com. It's a new feel-good TV series that will spread good vibes on Primetime.

Since the main casts are composed of four men and one lady, many assumed that this new GMA Telebabad series is Kapuso's version of Korea's "Boys Over Flower" and Taiwan's "Meteor Garden" - two of Asianovelas which took the country by storm!

Philippines' "Meant To Be"

Korea's "Boys Over Flowers"

Taiwan's "Meteor Garden"

Watching the teasers of the new show, though it has the casts ingredients of the said Asianovelas, we can say that it's totally different! The four leading men are of four different nationalities - Ken a Chinese, Jak a Filipino, Ivan an American, and Addy an Indian!

Though it's also a rom-com like the said Asianovelas, the story flow is also different.

Definitely, this is an exciting story that will make you laugh and love at the same time! The four leading men will not only capture the heart of Barbie but the viewers and netizens as well! "Teaser pa lang nakakakilig na!" What more in the actual show?!

"Meant To Be" has the same premiere date with ABS-CBN's "A Love to Last" which stars Bea Alonzo, Ian Veneracion, and Iza Calzado. Good vibes rom-com with fresh new faces versus the usual family drama tackling mistress again, my vote will be for "Meant to Be" this January 9. And everyone is really can't wait and see this new combination on TV! Good job GMA! (TV Series Craze)
