KC Concepcion's Character in 'Boy Golden' is a Revelation - Daring and Action at the Same Time!

We already saw KC Concepcion doing drama, comedy, or even hosting and playing kontrabida in her previous TV shows or movie. In her recent TV series in ABS-CBN called "Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala" with Sam Milby and Judy Ann Santos, we loved and hated KC at the same time as she played the antagonist Alexis against the soap opera queen!

Now in the 39TH Metro Manila Film Festival, get ready to see another brand new KC Concepcion! This time, she will showcase a daring character full of action stunts as the leading lady of Laguna Governor Jeorge Estregan / ER Ejercito in the movie "Boy Golden: The Arturo Porcuna Story."

During the bloggers' interview with KC last Saturday, December 21, 2013 after their mall show at Glorietta Activity Center, the actress revealed how challenging her character is. "Yes, my character is daring and action-filled at the same time. I'm a stripper / dancer in the movie," KC shared.

Aside from this, the Kapamilya actress also revealed that her character in the movie is the most challenging role she had played so far because of the abundance of action elements like gun shooting and martial arts. And take note, a Hollywood trainor trained KC for these action stunts!

“I trained for 3 months with mixed martial arts and meron akong Pilipino na nagturo na rin sa akin from Fitness Science and si Governor ER actually hand-picked Mr. Se from Thailand, siya yung gumawa ng mga choreographies and stunts coordination sa mga Hollywood films ni Angelina Jolie. He also did ‘Tomorrow Never Dies,’ ‘Tomb Raiders,’ and the like," KC explained.

KC also added that she was trained for 3 months doing mixed martial arts with her yoga. But this was only a crashed course in preparation for the movie.

Meanwhile, KC is really a big bet to win the Best Actress awards in this year's MMFF. Gov. ER was even quoted for his statement saying that if she lost the Best Actress trophy, the MMFF awards are rigged!

KC was so thankful for Gov. ER for believing on her and for his faith in winning the Best Actress trophy. She even thanked Director Chito Rono for giving direction on her character.

When asked if what is more important to her, winning the best actress award or grabbing the box-office success, KC replied that winning the best actress is just a cherry on a cake. Being part of the movie is really the most ambitious project she was ever done. “Ang awards kasi parang nakadikit na ‘yan sa pangalan mo forever e, so it’s really more of the respect rather than the money, in a way, but of course we would like to hope for commercial success also,” KC added.

We may recall that KC's recent acting award was as Best Supporting Actress in the recently concluded PMPC Star Awards for TV for her kontrabida role as Alexis in ABS-CBN's Primetime series "Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala."  Now with "Boy Golden," do you think her previous award will be uplifted as Best Actress?!

Joining KC and ER in the movie are Ton Ton Gutierrez, Joem Bascon, Eddie Garcia, Buboy Villar, and John Estrada.

Under Scenema Concept International Inc. and Viva Films, the same producers of the previous award-winning MMFF movies namely "Asiong Salonga"and "El Presidente," "Boy Golden: The Arturo Porcuna Story" is set to hit the theaters this Christmas day, December 25, 2013 with Premiere Night happening this Monday, December 23 at the SM Mall of Asia Cinema! Two thumbs up for this movie! Looking forward for another success! (www.tvseriescraze.blogspot.com)
