Brace yourself this Monday, January 30, 2023 as Klay (Barbie Forteza) enters the world of El Filibusterismo, the Season 2 of the hit GMA Primetime series 'Maria Clara at Ibarra!'
13 Years After, Maria Clara Infantes or Klay returns to the second book of Dr. Jose Rizal after finishing Noli Me Tangere.She insisted her professor Mr. Torres to return to the world of Maria Clara and Crisostomo Ibarra. But when not granted, she did everything including stealing the book from her professor and going to Rizal's monument in Luneta and did the oration. And as the episode last Friday ended, Klay finally woke up in the place probably in San Diego!
The new episode this Monday which is the Episode 86 of 'Maria Clara at Ibarra' marked the Book 2 of the series! This time, new characters will be introduced. But of course, the other characters from Noli such as Maria Clara, Basilio, Padre Salvi, Fidel, and Crisostomo Ibarra were retained now living brand new lives after 13 years!
The tamed, educated, and well-mannered Juan Crisostomo Ibarra from Noli transformed and disguised himself as the powerful, vengeful, jeweler Simoun! He is determined to seek revenge and ruin the friars and the government.
On the other hand, the child Basilio, the elder son of Sisa finally grown up. He is studying medicine. Basilio this time is played by the Kapuso actor Khalil Ramos.

What do you think will be the fates of the main characters in this second book of Rizal? Will they have the same destiny just like in the actual book or Klay will now have the power to change their lives?! Will Klay and Fidel (David Licauco) will now have a happy 'endgame?' How about Maria Clara and Ibarra / Simoun?!
Aside from Khalil Ramos, additional stars who joined the cast members are Julia Pascual who will be playing the character of Paulita Gomez, the girlfriend of Isagani and Kim De Leon who will portray Isagani, the bestfriend of Basilio who is a poet and a law student. Not revealed yet if the characters of Padre Florentino, Ben Zayb, and Placido Penitente will also be seen in the series!
'Maria Clara at Ibarra' is also announced that it is already on its last 3 weeks! These final 3 weeks will revolve around the story of El Filibusterismo.
The series is also currently dominating the television's primetime block and is also the trending topic in the world wide web. It also received different recognition and awards from the different award-giving bodies. In fact, the series bagged the most number of awards in our recently concluded 13TH Series Craze Awards 2022 including the Overall Best TV Series of 2022, Best Primetime TV Series, Lead Actor of the Year for Dennis Trillo, Lead Actress of the Year for Julie Anne San Jose, Breakthrough Celebrity of the Year for David Licauco, and Hottest Love Team of the Year for FiLay / DavBie (David Licauco and Barbie Forteza).
