Cinema One Originals and Sine Olivia-produced movie “Ang Babaeng Humayo” (The Woman Who Left), the comeback film of Charo Santos with multi-awarded actor John Lloyd Cruz, is the only Asian film in the Main Competition category to be screened in the 2016 Venice Film Festival this coming August 31 to September 10 in Lido, Venice.

“Congratulations to direk Lav Diaz for bringing honor and pride to our country once again. I am very proud and humbled to be part of this extraordinary film and excited for our Kapamilyas to watch it,” said Santos.

“Ang Babaeng Humayo” is Cinema One Originals production's biggest film to date and everyone in the team is excited with the dramatic comeback of Charo Santos," according to Ronald Arguelles, Cinema One channel head and the film’s executive producer.

The movie, directed by internationally acclaimed Filipino independent filmmaker Lav Diaz, was shot almost entirely in Santos’ hometown, Calapan, Mindoro. It revolves around Horacia Somorostro, a woman whose life has become an imprisonment with all its spins and randomness that made it very difficult, vicious, and inexplicable.

“The inspiration of the story is Tolstoy’s ‘God Sees the Truth but Waits.’ What really struck me when I read it was that neither of us really understands life. We don’t really know. This is one of the most essential truths of existence. And more often, we abide and succumb to life’s randomness,” shared Diaz, who is also the film’s editor and cinematographer.

Joining Santos and Cruz in the movie are Michael de Mesa, Shamaine Centenera-Buencamino, Nonie Buencamino, Marj Lorico, Mayen Estanero, Romelyn Sale, Lao Rodriguez, Jean Judith Javier, Mae Paner, and Kakai Bautista.

Cinema One Originals is an annual film festival spearheaded by Cinema One channel. It is now the longest running film festival in the country that produces its own content.

Cinema One is the number one movie cable channel in the country.  It is owned and operated by Creative Programs, Inc. a subsidiary of the media and entertainment company, ABS-CBN Corporation. (TV Series Craze)

Another source of Filipino pride is coming home.

"Ignacio de Loyola,” the first-ever Filipino produced movie screened at the Vatican, will finally be seen by Filipinos as it premieres on July 23 at The Theater at Solaire Resort and Casino, Paranaque City in a fund-raising dinner organized by the alumni of Ateneo de Manila University for the benefit of the Jesuit Infirmary and Jesuit Scholastics in the Philippines.

The special screening of the Jesuit Communications (JesCom)-produced full length independent film on the life of the Society of Jesus’ founder St. Ignatius of Loyola will start at 4pm, and will have a live performance of the musical scoring, composed by the “Maestro” Ryan Cayabyab, featuring the ABS-CBN Philharmonic Orchestra and the Ateneo Chamber Singers, under the masterful direction of Gerard Salonga.

“Ignacio de Loyola The Movie” takes a modern approach on the story of the very first Jesuit who is known as the “Saint of Second Chances.”  It narrates the story of a sinner who realizes that the greatest battles are fought within -- the choice between violence and mercy, anger and forgiveness, hope and despair, darkness and light. Ignacio was a worldly soldier who gave up his dreams of knighthood after being crippled in battle. Eventually, he found the Jesuit order during his recovery.

Based on a post from the movie's official Facebook page,, the movie received great reviews during its sneak preview last June 14 by the Vatican with Fr. Antonio Spadaro, S.J., director of La Civilta Cattolica — an Italian magazine founded by a group of Jesuits, who said, "I like this film so much because it gives you the meaning, the core of the life of Ignatius of Loyola. The Ignatius here is represented as a person of great spiritual dynamic and struggle. At the same time, it represents the interior life in action. So this movie gave me a lot and it is very well done.”

“Ignacio de Loyola The Movie” is an ambitious project, produced by Filipino filmmakers in collaboration with a European cast and crew.  The scope of the film meant shooting the biopic almost entirely in Spain, Ignacio’s home, for about two months. It also stars a Spanish-speaking cast led by Andreas Muñoz, who portrayed  the revered "sinner soldier-turned-Soldier of Christ."

Witness the making of the film in an ABS-CBN DocuCentral documentary airing on ANC, the ABS-CBN News Channel’s Documentary hour, that showcases behind the scene footage of the film, interviews with the actors as well as the Filipino crew including Cayabyab, who will all share their experiences and the challenges they encountered while making the film. The documentary airs this Saturday, July 16, at 10pm and on July 22 at 8pm on ANC’s Documentary Hour.

For tickets and inquiries to the July 23 special screening at Solaire Resort and Casino, call the Jesuit Communications office at (632) 4265971 to 72 and look for Cathy Cardoz or Cynthia Estrella. For more information, visit the ANC website, or follow its social media account on Facebook and Twitter (@ANCALERTS) and the movie’s official Facebook page ( (TV Series Craze)

Missed the award-winning star-studded movie before of Star Cinema called "Tanging Yaman"? Well, maybe this newest teleserye is the answer!

After its Twitter-trending teaser trailer earned rave reviews and hundreds of thousands of views online, newest family drama “The Greatest Love” finally comes to television soon on ABS-CBN to tell an unforgettable and extraordinary story of a mother’s selfless love.

Much of the hype and excitement surrounding the series is brought about by its trailer’s heart-rending plot twist: a mother suffering from sudden but profound memory loss that she is unable to recognize her own children fighting in front of her.

The series is led by an ensemble cast composed of veteran actors Sylvia Sanchez, Nonie Buencamino and Rommel Padilla, as well as Dimples Romana, Matt Evans, Arron Villaflor, and Andi Eigenmann.

Sylvia plays the character Gloria, a woman who, throughout her life, has given unconditional love to the people around her.

Through the years, Gloria has become a doting and selfless mother to Amanda (Dimples), Andrei (Matt), Paeng (Arron), and Lizelle (Andi).

However, a long-kept secret will shatter their once happy family, leading Gloria’s children to leave her one by one. As Gloria struggles to keep her family together, she starts to show symptoms of dementia and begins to lose pieces of her memory.

Her mission – to bring back the love her family once had for each other – becomes even more difficult as she races against time and tries to gather her memories before they are completely wiped out.

With scenes set against the picturesque landscapes of Quirino province, “The Greatest Love” is directed by Dado Lumibao and Mervyn Brondial.

According to the series’ creative manager, legendary writer Ricky Lee, “The Greatest Love” is not just about Gloria’s brain condition, but also about the “figurative dementia” of her kids.

“If you come to think of it, Gloria’s children are also suffering from memory problems. They forget that a mother is always going to be a mother. When you have lost in life, when people have forsaken you, when you have nowhere to go, there is that one person you can always run to and who will always accept you no matter – that is your mother,” Ricky said.

“Many children have ‘dementia.’ They don’t remember that their mother loves them very much even when they get reprimanded or if they get separated. In the end, a mother’s love is limitless,” he added.

Is there hope for Gloria to bring her family back together? Will she ever find happiness with the people she loves? Will she completely lose her identity, as well as the secrets she has kept in her heart all these years?

But before showing Gloria’s journey to motherhood, the series retraces her great love story in its first week showing young Gloria (Ellen Adarna) falling in love with boatman Peter (Ejay Falcon) and being forced to marry musician Andres (Junjun Quintana).

Joining the cast of “The Greatest Love” are Tonton Gutierrez, Alec Bovic, and Joshua Garcia.

Adding star power to the series is Megastar Sharon Cuneta, who just recently recorded the official theme song of the series, “The Greatest Love of All", with the ABS-CBN Philharmonic Orchestra, marking her first time to record a new version of a song for a teleserye.

Don’t forget to watch “The Greatest Love” soon on ABS-CBN. (TV Series Craze)

In love, what will you choose: the love that is right or the love that is real?

Beginning July 18, GMA Afternoon Prime offers the TV adaptation of the 1992 blockbuster movie, Sinungaling Mong Puso.

Now considered a classic, the Maryo J. Delos Reyes masterpiece makes a big comeback with a modernized version that shows a woman’s discovery of her self-worth and the sacrifices she makes in her relentless pursuit of true love.

Notably portrayed in the film by Ms. Vilma Santos, Gabby Concepcion, Aga Muhlach, Aiko Melendez, the television remake of Sinungaling Mong Puso has been given an equally compelling cast led by Rhian Ramos, Rafael Rosell, Kiko Estrada, Jazz Ocampo.

The story revolves around Clara (Rhian), the abused wife of the womanizer Roman Aguirre (Rafael) who came from an influential political clan. Instead of giving in to the agony of her plight, she chooses to hope and remain resilient for the sake of her family. Until she accidentally meets Jason (Kiko), a man who will love her for real. However, he is ten years younger than her. He, like Clara, is unhappily married to Hannah (Jazz) who is pregnant with their child.

In spite their efforts to keep their rapport amicable, friendship draws them closer together resulting into a romance that then turns into a passionate love affair.  But when their secret is discovered, it becomes the greatest threat to their lives.

Rhian, who will portray the challenging role of Clara first played by Ms. Vilma Santos, said she feels challenged to portray The Star for All Seasons’ former character. “Pressured ako since it’s Ms. Vilma, pero kasi the advice given to me is do it on my own way and hopefully people will find appreciation in the kind of labor I’ll be doing on it.”

On the other hand, Rafael said playing the role of Roman, originally played by Gabby, makes him anxious and thrilled at the same time. “I am very excited and nervous kasi hindi ko alam ang magiging take ko, may pagka-sociopath kasi si Roman, so dun ko lalaruin ang character.”

Portraying his most mature role to date as Jason, Kiko admits feeling the pressure for his latest TV assignment. “I watched clips pero I don’t want to copy Sir Aga’s performance kasi I want to bring myself into it, parang ako, yung character ko rito marami siyang gusto i-prove. Nandoon siya dun sa age na eager to prove something.”

For Jazz, she looks at playing the role of Hannah as an eye-opener for her career growth. “Masaya ako na malaki ang binibigay na improvement sa akin ng show kasi dito, I learned how to open myself to my co-actors since kailangan all-out ako dito.”

Completing the cast are Michael de Mesa as Mayor Moises Aguirre, Roman’s corrupt father who wants him to keep his political power within their family; Glydel Mercado as Raquel, the perfect trophy wife of Mayor Moises; Cheska Diaz as Helen, Jason’s understanding mother, Sherilyn Reyes as Liza, Hannah’s controlling mother; Stephanie Sol as Camilla, Roman’s mistress; Gee Canlas as Jillian, Clara’s confidante and best friend; JC Tiuseco as Jolo who does everything to please Roman; Gab de Leon as Vin, the right hand man of Roman.

Sinungaling Mong Puso is under the helm of acclaimed actor-director Ricky Davao and behind this riveting drama is the creative team composed of Creative Director Roy Iglesias; Creative Block Head Jake Tordesillas; Creative Consultant Aloy Adlawan; Creative Unit Head Denoy Navarro Punio; Headwriter Renei Dimla; Writers Ana Levita Macapugay and Liberty Trinidad; Brainstormers Christina Samson-Velasco and John Kenneth De Leon.

Managed by the GMA Drama group, Sinungaling Mong Puso is supervised by the SVP for Entertainment TV Lilybeth G. Rasonable; VP for Drama Redgie A. Magno; AVP for Drama Cheryl Ching-Sy; Program Manager Hazel F. Abonita and Executive Producer Lani Feliciano.

Sinungaling Mong Puso premieres on July 18 and will air Mondays to Fridays after Magkaibang Mundo on GMA Afternoon Prime.

The group dubbed as The KPop Moveathoners comprise of Regiely Prado, Rona Liezl Cruz, Paul Ian Lorica, Michael John Prado, and John Wilford Prado hailed as the grand winners in the 7TH Edition of Star Movie's Movie Marathon.

Star Movies kept moviegoers on their feet all day and all night on June 27, 2016 for the Star Movies Move-A-Thon, a movie marathon that required non-stop dancing from contenders who wanted to be declared the Philippines’ ultimate film lovers. Groups of avid film viewers shimmied and shook their “groove thang” for up to 24 hours straight while watching the best and most popular movie musicals of all time—all for the chance to win the grand prize of PHP200, 000.

With each movie binge embracing a different theme, Star Movies marathons have been highly successful, garnering thousands of entries each time. Starting with a straight-up movie marathon with unlimited food and drinks in 2010, the Star Movies marathon was upgraded with a fitness theme with yoga and other physical challenges in 2012; a rigid boot camp theme in 2013, where the grand prize was awarded to just one hardy individual; and a scare-a-thon of all horror movies in 2015, where 500 participants were required to sit completely still until one winner remained.

The KPop Moveathoners Hailed as the Grand Winner

The Listerine Winner

The Dolfenal Winner

The 5star Cadbury Winner

The Star Movies Move-A-Thon is the channel’s seventh movie marathon, and it was the first time that viewers were allowed to compete in teams. Contestants danced non-stop for an entire day while watching the most entertaining musicals in movie history, and because of the nature of the contest, Star Movies took the movie marathon out of the cinemas and onto the dance floor, holding it in the nightlife mecca of House Manila at Resorts World Manila. The channel and partner sponsors also provided contestants with food and beverages throughout the day.

Not only did the teams have to move continuously throughout the contest, all while enjoying memorable films, but they also had to go through various challenges in order to earn their bathroom breaks. Contestants scrambled to follow the rigid requirements of the movie marathon while thinking of their teammates’ physical comfort, resulting in a fun and chaotic dance-party-slash-movie-marathon that went down in Star Movies history. In the end, the last team dancing—and watching—was declared the winner of the movie marathon. The five team members had the privilege of sharing the grand prize of PHP200,000.

“We were so excited to continue Star Movies’ tradition of exciting movie marathons this year and add another cool twist to up the game. Star Movies Move-A-Thon certainly brought the most dedicated film lovers out of the woodwork and onto the dance floor, and we’re proud to be handing the prize over this year to those who really worked for it, had a lot of fun, and really deserved it,” said Charo Espedido,  Director and Head of Marketing for FOX International Channels.

The Star Movies Move-A-Thon was brought to you by FOX Networks Group in cooperation with Listerine: Bring Out The Bold, 5 Star Cadbury: The latest, happiest, craziest Cadbury in town #youthinkyoucan, and Dolfenal "para laging good vibes, magdolfenal”, official venue partner, Resorts World Manila, Nothing Compares, and House Manila and official coffee partner, Bo’s Coffee, Your Homegrown Coffee. Three of the lead stars of the GMA-7's hit afternoon TV series "Hanggang Makita Kang Muli" graced the finale bloggers' conference held this Monday, July 11, 2016. Bea Binene, Jak Roberto, and Kim Rodriguez who were playing the characters of Angela, Elmo, and Claire respectively shared their interesting stories playing the roles.

These three stars made a great revelation in the said teleserye. Therefore during our blogcon, we discussed how challenging the roles their were playing in the show as well as the impact of them to the viewers.

Of the three characters, we can say that Bea Binene showed a great revelation in her acting! Who could imagine that a sweet girl we used to watch in "Tween Hearts" way back in 2010 now evolves into an award-winning actress playing a feral child in "Hanggang Makita Kang Muli?"

In the story, Bea plays Ana, the missing child of Evelyn (Angelika Dela Cruz) and Larry (Raymart Santiago). Because of having no background about care and affection, she grew up as a "feral child," a human who acted as an animal!

"Lahat naman ng characters na ginampanan ko challenging. Pero this role so far ang masasabi kong pinaka challenging," Bea shared during our interview.

And what role Bea is eyeing to in the future?! "Well, ako 'ung gusto ko 'ung mala-action. 'Ung parang sa action TV series na pinapanood ko," Bea added.

Bea also revealed that to achieve such kind of role, they underwent an acting workshop under Ms. Ina Feleo, their co-star in the teleserye who is playing the villain, the wicked Odessa who caused the lost of Ana from her parents.

Jak Roberto is known for his perfect abs and sexy physique! He already ramp half naked in the Cosmopolitan Bachelor's Bash and becomes a hunk model of the different clothing line. He even becomes a favorite hunk cover of some of the different fitness magazines. But in this teleserye, he is playing Elmo, a guy who is always rejected and is brokenhearted.

"'Ung character ko kase dito is laging brokenhearted. Lagi akong nanlilimos ng pag-ibig," Jak shared.

So from his statement, I cracked another question - "naranasan mo na bang maging brokenhearted in real life? At ano 'ung maipapayo mo sa mga brokenhearted?"

"Lahat naman tayo dumaraan sa ganung sitwasyon. Ang masasabi ko lang, MOVE ON and ACCEPTANCE," Jak promptly answered!

In the story Jak is Elmo, the bestfriend of Calvin (Derrick Monasterio) who has a secret love to Claire (Kim Rodriguez). But Claire is deeply in love with Calvin hurting Elmo's feelings.

We already watched Kim Rodriguez before in different kind and leading roles. She made a mark on TV playing the lead role of the kindhearted Eliana, the girl who has a snake twin in the GMA's 2013 afternoon hit fantaserye "Kakambal ni Eliana" launching her career as a bida. But in "Hanggang Makita Kang Muli," Kim portrayed the villain Claire, the antagonist of Ana.

"Hindi ka ba natakot na ma-bash sa Social Media because of your character in the story? And what made you decide accept that kind of role" - two of the top questions we threw for Kim.

"Gusto ko kase 'ung mala bida-kontrabida. 'Ung pinaglalaruan ko 'ung character ko," Kim shared.

"Yes, naranasan kong ma-bash. Pero dun kase nakikita ung effectivity mo as an actress, na effective 'ung role mo," Kim added.

Kim also added that Ina Feleo who is also a kontrabida in their teleserye influenced her acting. "Ang dami kong natutunan kay Ms. Ina, siya 'ung nag-ga-guide sakin sa acting."

Kim also revealed that playing the villain Claire in the story, she has 5 kontrabidas in mind. "Meron akong limang kontrabida na nasa isip then ina-adapt ko isa-isa ung mga characters nila into one character."

Aside from their teleserye, Bea, Jak, and Kim were also busy in different things. Bea is currently marketing her own bags as her business, Jak is busy with his workouts and fitness routines, and Kim is pursuing her study as a graphic artist.

I will share with you my three different exclusive one-on-one video interviews with these three young stars in my next posts. And yes, those videos will also be uploaded in my official YouTube account so stay tune!

Meanwhile, let's take a glance to Bea Binene's breakthrough character as a feral child below which truly vowed the audience:
