ABS-CBN 2 Versus GMA-7's Libel Case: The Two Sides of the Story!

A warrant of arrest has been issued to the ABS-CBN chairman Eugenio “Gabby” Lopez III and 12 other previous and present news employees namely Erwin Tulfo, Lynda Jumilla, Beth Frondoso, Maria Progena Estonillo Reyes, Annie Eugenio, Dondi Garcia, Luis Alejandro, Jose Ramon Olives, Jesus Maderazo, Luchi Cruz-Valdes, Jose Magsaysay Jr, and Alfonso Marquez for the libel case filed by GMA-7.

The case started when ABS-CBN reported in their defunct late night news program "Insider" anchored by now TV5's anchor Erwin Tulfo the "unauthorized" used of GMA-7 of their Angelo Reyes footage in 2004. The words like "pagnanakaw" at "pamimirata" led the Kapuso network to sue tha Kapamilya. But prior to that, ABS-CBN filed a copyright infringement to GMA for the said video.

To learn more about the story, here are the two video clips from ABS-CBN's "TV Patrol" and GMA-7's "Saksi" reporting the same issue. Let's all watch these:

Meanwhile, ABS-CBN released their official statement regarding the issue. Here is the link of the said statement posted in the previous post: ABS-CBN Libel Case Statement.

Hope this issue will resolve in due time. It's already 9 years and majority of the persons accused were no longer working in ABS-CBN.(www.tvseriescraze.blogspot.com)
