Poll Result: 'Lobo' Hails as the Best Pinoy TV Series of All Time!

The first ever-teamup of Angel Locsin and Piolo Pascual and the very first TV series project of Ms. Angel Locsin in the Kapamilya network called "Lobo" emerged as the Best Pinoy TV Series of All Time based on the result of our poll survey!

Still the two TV series from the Kapamilya and Kapuso namely "Mara Clara" and "Temptation of Wife" lead the latest Kantar Media TV ratings.

With the noontime variety show "Eat Bulaga" and with the Koreanovela "Temptation of Wife", GMA-7 definitely lead the daytime race.

But in terms of the Primetime programs, ABS-CBN is really a sure winner! "Mara Clara", "Noah", and "Imortal" still completed the top-three leading Primetime TV program! Great!

Since 2007 after Angel left her home network for ABS-CBN, the Kapuso station built Marian Rivera to pitted their former queen Angel Locsin. We may recall that Angel refused the role of being the Pinay "Marimar" and decided to transfer to the Kapamilya station. Kapuso then gave the role to the starting star Marian Rivera. When this Philippine adaptation of the hit Mexiconovela "Marimar" became successful, they put the crown left by Angel to Marian as their new queen!

The rivalry even intensified last 2009 when GMA-7 decided to remake "Darna" which was previously played by Angel and gave the said role to Marian! Simultaneous comparisons happened! We even conducted our own poll survey between Angel and Marian's "Darna" versions. But still Angel won! Angel still reigns as the Best Darna of this present generation!

Even the battle for the sexiest Pinay in the famous FHM magazine heated more between Angel and Marian. But still Ms. Angel Locsin hailed as the Sexiest Pinay leaving Marian only on the third or fourth spot!

Even the title of being the Female Action Superstar which is already owned by Angel Locsin is trying to give to Marian Rivera when the latter was given different action projects like "Darna" before and the upcoming "Amaya" next year. But according to many audiences and critics, Angel Locsin still owns the title and no one can ever steal it from her! Great!

The TV series world this 2010 is mark with different themes and costumes! Since different networks offered us different types of TV series with different genres, what remarkable of these teleseryes were costumes that identify one soap from another!

Before, the so-called glamorous costumes or attires used in different TV series can only be seen in different fantasy series, But today, we can now see luxurious costumes in real-life drama series!

This year's TV series like "Magkaribal", "Ilumina", "Grazilda", "Kokey@Ako", "Noah", and "Habang May Buhay" gave us noticeable costumes! These costumes exemplify one soap opera from another!

But talking about costumes or fashions in the world of TV series, we can always think of the telerserye "Magkaribal" which is said to be the first fashion series on TV. This TV series really exposes the viewers in the world of trends and fashion statements! It seems like you're watching a TV series and a fashion show at the same time!

Another TV series that captures me in terms of the costumes is the Judy Ann Santos-Derek Ramsey drama series "Habang May Buhay"! Yup, this is a TV series about medicines, hospitals, and nursing! I really like their nursing attires! I like how the hospitality uniforms of the main characters were presented! Wearing their medical uniforms lab coats convinced us that they were really nurses and doctors! Even the dental office scrubs of the main villain give us a real life setting!

In terms of the fantaseryes like "Ilumina", "Noah", "Kokey@Ako", and "Grazilda", they really brought us in a different world! It feels like we're in a different kingdom away from earth! They really put fantasy into a reality with their glam costumes!

Jewel Mische and Baron Geisler in a Special 'MMK' Episode!

The so-called 'ang pagsasama-sama ng pinakamahuhusay at pinakamalalaking artista' teleserye teaser was recently launched. This is the first biggest TV series to be offered by the Kapamilya network this coming 2011!

"Minsan Lang Kita Iibin" is a big drama series in ABS-CBN which combines the biggest and the prominent names in the showbiz industry like Lorna Tolentino, Ronaldo Valdez, Boots Anson-Roa, Amy Austria, Tonton Gutierrez, Maja Salvador, Andi Eigenmann, and Coco Martin! This tells the story of the General's family!

It also has a touch of action since the cast were playing the characters of soldiers and terrorists!

On January 3, 2011, ABS-CBN will show the full trailer of this exciting soap opera right after "Mara Clara"! But right now, they were already showing short teasers of it!

Bing Loyzaga Replaces Agot Isidro as Kontrabida in 'Babaeng Hampaslupa'!

The role of being the main villain in the upcoming drama TV series of Alex Gonzaga in TV5 called "Ang Babaeng Hampaslupa" was first offered to Ms. Agot Isidro. But the supposed to be transfer of Ms. Agot to the Kapatid network didn't prosper so the 'kontrabida' role was given to the other actress!

Ms. Bing Loyzaga takes the place of Agot Isidro. Yup, she will be the primera 'kontrabida' in this upcoming teleserye of the Kapatid network!

Bing Loyzaga will make the lives of Alex Dixson and Alex Gonzaga's characters miserable in this said new soap! Alex and Alice will play the role of mother and daughter in this teleserye while Ms. Susan Roces is Alex' grandmother.

"Ang Babaeng Hampaslupa" is a classic movie of the diamond star Ms. Maricel Soriano. It will be revived by the Kapatid network in a TV series and will air next year. This is also the launching TV series of Alex Gonzaga.

'Stay the Night' by James Blunt is the Theme Song Used in 'Dwarfina' Teaser!

To excite the audience, the teaser of the upcoming fantasy series in GMA-7 for 2011 "Dwarfina" uses a foreign theme song. This song is called "Stay The Night" which popularized by James Blunt.

It seems that in every teaser of the upcoming Heart Evangelista teleserye in GMA-7 uses foreign theme songs. We may recall that during the promo teaser of her defunct TV series with Mark Herras called "Langit Sa Piling Mo", they used the hit song called "Nothing on You" by Bruno Mars. This time, they used the song by James Blunt to promote "Dwarfina".

"Stay the Night" is not the official theme song of "Dwarfina". They only use this song for the promo teaser of the fantaserye. Expect a different theme song for this new TV series when it airs on Telebabad this coming January 10.

Yup, Emil Cruz Jr.'s "Mara Clara" is the leading Primetime TV program nationwide last December 24 based on the data of Kantar Media. The vampire-werewolf fantasy series "Imortal" only placed second while "Noah" on third.

JC De Vera and Jasmine Curtis Will Star in 'Ang Utol Kong Hoodlum'!

After leading in his first TV series in the Kapatid network, the hunk actor and the so-called TV5's Prince of Primetime JC De Vera will once more star in the upcoming TV series of the said network. This time, he will be paired with Anne Curtis' younger sister, Jamine Curtis-Smith.

TV5 will do the remake of the 90's action film "Ang Utol Kong Hoodlum". This is one of the hit action film before of Robin Padilla and Vina Morales from Viva Films.

JC De Vera will take the role of Robin while Jasmine is for Vina's character.

Aside from JC and Jasmine, the other casts in this TV remake are Empoy and Rainier Castillo. Rainier will play the sidekick of JC.

"Ang Utol Kong Hoodlum" will be another big TV series to be launched by the Kapatid network this coming 2011. It's an action-drama soap!

Komiks Master Pablo S. Gomez Dies!

The 81-year old veteran comics novelist Pablo S. Gomez passed away a day after the Christmas! This is the very sad news reported yesterday in different radio and TV stations.

According to reports, Gomez died at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday at the Sta. Teresita Hospital in Quezon City after suffering a heart attack. His body is at St. Peter Mortuary Chapel, also in Quezon City, and is set to be cremated on December 30.

The untimely death of his sister Leonora on the Christmas eve triggered the heart attack of Gomez according to his family.

Pablo S. Gomez made a great contribution in the Komiks and in the showbiz world! I first knew Pablo when the fantasy TV series starring Anne Curtis "Kampanerang Kuba" started on TV. Yup, he is the writer of this story originally came from comics. Then it became a classic hit movie of Ms. Vilma Santos before it became a TV series in 2005.

But actually aside from "Kampanerang Kuba", Pablo S. Gomez already made lots of significant contributions in the world of comics and movies!

Pablo S. Gomez already created a big mark in the komiks industry way back 1950's! His works like "Guy and Pip", "Rosa Mistika", "Magdusa Ka", "Machete", "Hilda", "Kurdapya", "Torkwatta" and "Susanang Daldal" were made into classic hit movies!

Pablo also became screenwriters of many classic hit movies of the late King of Philippine Cinema Mr. Fernando Poe Jr. Some of these films were "Tulad ng Eseng ng Tondo", "Probinsyano", "Kahit Konting Pagtingin", "Sta. Quiteria", "Kalibre 45" and "Mahal San Ka Nanggaling Kagabi?"

Many of his works were became hit TV series of ABS-CBN. These includes "Kampanerang Kuba", "Inday Sa Balitaw", and other stories featured in "Wansapanataym". He is also the author of the comedy-fantasy daytime TV series "Juanita Banana"! He is also the man behind the classic hit movie "Petrang Kabayo" which was just recently revived!

In 2011, two of Gomez works will come to life in fantasy TV series. These will be brought by two giant networks namely ABS-CBN and GMA-7. The Kapamilya network will bring us "Mutya" starring Precious Lara Quigaman and Alfred Vargas while the Kapuso station will give us "Machete" starring Aljur Abrenica!

A batch of new cast joins the phenomenal hit TV series "Imortal". They were collectively called as the "Mandirigmang Lobo"!

"Mandirigmang Lobo" is composed of Carlos Agassi, Nikki Bacolod, Van Roxas, Fred Payawan, Gem Ramos, David Chua, Joyce So, Heidi Riego, Michael Elhag and many more. They were like soldiers who fights the evil vampires and at the same time protects the human and the werewolf races!
